Useful tips to take care of your dipping nails at home

Taking care of your dipping nails is as important as any other part of your body. Nail health is very important because it helps to keep your hands beautiful and healthy. Unkempt fingers can lead to various kinds of infections and other health problems. Beautiful and healthy hands do not mean that you have to spend a fortune to make them look attractive. You can now have the luxury of manicure (professional term for taking care of the dipping nails) at home. Here are some useful tips on manicure.

Once you know the basic steps involved, you can easily practice them at home regularly. You can show off your beautiful fingers just like the celebrities. You need to store some materials like cotton balls, polish remover, file, finger bowl, cuticle remover, cuticle cream or oil, nail polish and moisturizing lotion etc.
Tips on manicure at home

1. Remove nail polish: Remove the nail polish using cotton balls dipped in the nail polish remover. Rub lightly on the nails till they appear in their natural color. Remove the excess liquid with the help of paper tissues.

2. File your nails: The next step is to file your nails using an emery board. It is used for filing the rough surfaces of the nails. Do not overuse it because it can make the surface rough. Use it for giving proper shape to the nail ends. The boards come in different shapes and can be chosen according to your personal taste.

3. Trim finger nails: The trimmer is basically used if you want to trim the nails or shorten the length. It is more efficient than the board. Trimming your dipping nails once a month is recommended. If you have some health problems then do not trim them for safety reasons.

4. Remove cuticle: The cuticle is the soft skin that is found at the bottom of the dipping nails where the skin meets the cartilage of the nails. The cuticle can be pushed down with the help of the cuticle remover if there are no other problems such as rashes, swelling, redness or any discoloration. If there is dead cuticle it has to be removed using the clipper.

5. Apply nail polish: Before applying the polish remember to give a day or two or breathing time to the nails if you are in the habit of applying the polish often. Then choose your favorite color and apply it with the help of the applicator that comes along with it. Keep your hand steady while applying. Start applying from the base of the nail and move towards the top. After ten minutes, apply the second coat. If you make a mistake while applying, it can be removed with the help of a paper tissue dipped doused with remover.

6. Apply the lotion: After the polish is dry and the mistakes corrected, use a good hand lotion and apply it over the hands and the finger. Gently massage from the wrists and move downwards to the finger tips. After the massage, your hands will look very attractive.
